Girls Gist, an organization dedicated to empowering teenage girls in Africa, is asking you to invest in that potential. We’re asking you to help us power dreams by funding a project that will bring solar energy and global connectivity to the heart of a rural community in Oghara, Nigeria. The Vision:

That’s the vision of GirlGist—a community center powered by solar energy and connected to the world through Starlink Internet. We’re bringing reliable, sustainable electricity and fast digital access to an underserved community, making it possible for girls to access educational platforms, participate in global conversations, and develop the skills they need to thrive in today’s world.

This project will directly impact 500 teenage girls, providing them with:

  • Continuous access to education and digital tools to expand their horizons.
  • Reliable solar-powered infrastructure, ensuring that power outages will never stand in the way of their future.
  • Global connectivity through Starlink Internet, offering access to educational resources, mentors, and leadership programs from across the globe.

The Project:

We propose Creation of an innovation hub and center of excellence powered by solar power system and Starlink Internet in Nigeria. This will create a learning hub that operates year-round, offering:

  • Solar energy to power laptops, lights, and educational tools, even during frequent power outages.
  • Starlink satellite internet, providing fast, reliable internet access so girls can connect with global mentors, take online courses, and participate in leadership development programs.
